It Takes A Village

So, apparently, I have a blog site. Six years ago, I wrote a few blogs and never closed the site. In April 2016, I felt like I was supposed to write a blog. But here’s the thing, I don’t like to write and I hardly read blogs. Clearly, becoming a ‘blogger’ is the right thing to do. Ha! But I pushed it off for 9 months and then today, I was reading a book and it said “It’s not about you. It’s about God.”

See, instead of just obeying, I continued to list the negatives.

1)      I don’t like to write.

2)      I don’t read many blogs.

3)      Who on Earth wants to read what I have to write?

4)      If someone thought I was writing a blog because I think I have it all together, I would be mortified. I definitely do not have it all together.

5)      I don’t have much extra time to sit down and write.

6)      Life within my comfort zone is quite comfortable!

But after I read the section of the book today, I really felt it was time to get over myself and obey. So, here I am, writing a blog, stepping WAY out of my comfort zone, but all in hopes that I am being obedient.

And now the question – what will the blog be about? And the answer – parenting! Haha! Oh my. Don’t worry. I am already laughing at myself. Before we start on this journey, please know that I in no way think I have parenting figured out. I definitely do not. I do, however, know that it takes a village to raise a generation of world changers. I want this blog to be about sharing tips that work, ideas to make parenting better, and helpful resources.

We ended 2017 and started 2018 with most of our family being sick. As you probably know, when the parents are sick, it becomes all the more challenging. My parents ended up staying a little longer than they had planned in order to let me sleep and rest, a friend brought us soup, while other friends prayed for our healing. It takes a village. We don’t have to do life alone. We are so much better together!

I’m ending my introduction to the blog with a resource.
